I am living in between the story of our lives

I am living in between the story of our lives. I haven't quite made it yet. The things in which we cannot see are calling us again and we are being pulled further towards everything that is true. Its a feeling of a deeper knowing. We are turning everything around and I am on the fence. It is a place I know quite well. I lost a shoe over one side and threw the other one just so they has each other for company. I decided it would be better to leave them behind. I am choosing you over them. I am free of all that no longer needs me. Hold me in between the moments of our lives. These are the ones I dream of. We are in it now. Our connections allow us to reach far and wide. I am knocking on the door hoping you will be on the other side. I have been waiting till the right moment to tell you, but as we all know patience it not something that comes easy for me. I will be brave and share my secrets but only with you.

I can't even begin to express how wonderful these things are. The ones that have been hiding for so long have found a way there way to surface. They tiptoed around and whispered just to make sure it was safe and that the coast was clear. They are touching the surface of everything as only these things can. The remains of everything you left behind

You were gone in the blink of an eye. The bed is messy and empty without you but filled with all our secrets. The mess is everywhere. The remains of everything you left behind are covering the carpet like scars across my face. That hole is still there. Right in the middle. That floorboard, yes you know the one I mean is poking up through like it knows the truth. I hate the look on its face its almost smirking if not laughing at me knowing exactly how these things pan out. The next steps of what I would still be yet to accept. I invited you in and you took everything you could except the bed. Even the trimmings on the shelf and those notebooks no one ever used. It was important to you somehow and my bed is a safety net protecting me from the world but couldn’t protect you. It saved me from you. I pretend

That sinking feeling comes again. It comes in waves and then hits me all at once. Don't do it. Don't even think about it. Oh go on just a bit. No, nothing at all.  I run and run and run too scared to stop in case it catches up with me. I pretend its not an issue and pretend I'm normal like everyone else. What does that even mean? I say it so often but what does it actually mean? Normal to me, normal to you, normal to the person whose culture is completely different to mine, normal to some one who is a different race, gender, sexual preference. What is normal? Normal does not exist but yet I cling to the notion that it does like a fragment of truth trying to escape through a sheer fabric like the sun sneaking through my broken window.
